Types of Information Gathered

There are two primary types of information provided by Step Connect² customers. The definitions and treatments of these types are as follows:

Financial Information: Payment information gathered during the registration process – including but not limited to, credit card details, financial institutions, and expiration dates – is considered Financial. This information is not distributed under any circumstances.

Payments for delegate places, awards places, stands and/or sponsorship are either made to Step Connect² by Worldpay or by an invoice(s) generated by our accounts team.

Professional Information: Data that customers provide to Step Connect² through various methods of communications with Step Connect² is considered professional information that is stored and managed for Step Connect²’s internal use.

Professional information includes, but is not limited to, name, address, company name, company address, phone number, email address, as well as questions answered on survey or registration forms. Data captured during a customer’s visit to a Step Connect² website, as well as during a visit with another Step Connect²’s customer, is also considered professional information and may also be stored for Step Connect²’s internal use. Professional information may be shared with other organisations or Step Connect²’s customers for the purpose of facilitating business relationships in our customer’s best interests, unless you have opted out of such communications.

At Trade Shows

Anyone attending a presentation in one of our conference rooms/theatres at one of our trade shows will have their attendee badge scanned and, through such attendance and scanning, will be agreeing to the passing of their professional information to the presentation host/exhibitor company and to being contacted by the presentation host/exhibitor company and/or speaker in relation to such presentation. Similarly, anyone who agrees to have their attendee badge scanned at an exhibitor’s stand is agreeing to their professional information being retained and used by that exhibitor company for marketing purposes and to the information being passed to Step Connect² for data analytics purposes.

Your Right to Access & Rectification

You have the right to access a copy of your personal data. You also have the right to have any errors corrected. Requests for access should be made in writing to Data Controller, Step Connect², Step House, North Farm Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN2 3DR or by email to data@stepconnect2.com. Access will be subject to verification of your identity.

Your Right to Opt Out

Step Connect² will accept, acknowledge and maintain any customer’s request to opt-out of future communication from Step Connect². Every email, newsletter we send includes a unsubscribe link enabling you to opt out of receiving further newsletters or mailers.

In all cases, the opt-out request is processed as soon as we have received your instructions. In practice, this takes immediate effect in respect of digital communications, but for printed material you may receive a further magazine/flyer if the mailing labels have already been processed prior to your opt out request.

Children Below the Age of 16

If you are under the age of 16 you may register on the website to receive newsletters or other information but only with the expressed consent of a parental or guardian (a person holding ‘Parental Responsibility’).

If you register to attend one of our events you will need to be in attendance and under the supervision of a parental or guardian (a person holding ‘Parental Responsibility’ for you).
