Biography

Alwyn is a Chartered Builder (MCIOB) and a Certified member of the IWFM with over 30 years of experience in construction, estate, and facilities management.

Following an early career in the construction sector Alwyn went on to work in the Estates and Facilities department of Bangor University for over 20 years.  Alwyn’s career then moved across to a new post as Head of Facilities and Asset Management for Cadw where he implemented a new pan-Wales facilities management service for historic properties in state care, before returning to the education sector four years ago.

Now working as Head of Education Estates within the Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme, he focuses on the built environment and sustainability aspects of the school and college estates, developing a Net Zero Carbon strategy, leading on the Sustainable Schools’ Challenge, along with the review of size and cost standards for schools across Wales.
