Biography

Matthew Maughan, English graduate, began his teaching career at Bassaleg School in Newport and is now Deputy Headteacher responsible for Curriculum and Assessment. Matthew has worked collaboratively with colleagues across Wales on developing the Curriculum for Wales and is thoroughly enjoying actively leading the next phase of cluster design and progression steps with our neighbouring Primary Schools. Matthew has recently taken a lead role in project managing, from a school’s perspective, the design and construction of Bassaleg’s new build, Adeilad Balch.
